Tenebria deck with targeted draw for a consistent combo

As for most of the decks I try to craft, the main goal is to have a comfy and fun deck that can reliably execute its planned combo while having decent sustain. It is by no means optimized to deal the most damage / one shot bosses.
Most equipments and refinements are suggestions. Some explanations and alternatives can be found in the "Details" section of this guide.
Abc -> Combattant
Abc -> Card
Abc -> Mechanic
Abc / Abc / Abc -> Equipment
[Abc] -> Memory fragment set
I've been struggling to make a good Tenebria deck for a while, mainly because I wanted to pair her with Mei Lin and Rei and couldn't figure out how to make it work both in terms of AP and draw (in addition, Rei was not exactly the best at sustaining and her own Rhythm cards did not do enough damage).
And then I remembered Narja also had some basic attack support in her deck. In addition to the ability to provide draw, AP (or rather cost reduction), a damage boost and some additional sustain, she truly was the missing puzzle piece to this deck.
Sorry Mei Lin, you'll have to wait for new teammates.
The setup will usually be done during the first turn combo as it only consists in playing all your upgrade cards:
Music, Start! -> Will always activate automatically at the start of combat
Encore -> Play it whenever you draw it, making sure you keep enough AP for the rest of the turn
Strike of Darkness -> Play it whenever you draw it, making sure you keep enough AP for the rest of the turn
Resonating Darkness -> Play it whenever you draw it, making sure you keep enough AP for the rest of the turn
Voluntary Control -> Play it whenever you draw it, making sure you keep enough AP for the rest of the turn
After that, you can follow the normal turn guide while ignoring the part about Shackles of Hunger). You can instead start the 'chain' with any other "Draw 1 common card" divine epiphanied card.
At the start of each turn, in addition to the normal 5 draw you will also get both of Narja's Shackles of Hunger. Start by playing the one with the "Draw 2" divine epiphany (only works if it is the first card you use) to get some extra draw, then play the second one to start a common card 'chain'.
Play any cards you draw from the 'chain' until you draw one of the Attack! cards. This includes Rei's Strike of Darkness and Confiscation, and Narja's Bottomless Hunger. If the last 'Common' card you draw is a Bottomless Hunger, you may want to keep it in hand to build towards 8 cards for the Forbidden card (since it won't draw another card) or to use if you somehow run out of AP afterwards.
At the end of the 'chain', you will draw one of the two Attack! cards. Use it to draw and play Narja's Persona card.
If you have another "Draw 1 common card" divine epiphanied card in hand, use it to start a second 'chain' and draw the second Attack!. Use it to draw Arpeggio 0 or Predator's Blade depending on your hand (you want to have either Arpeggio 0 or Arpeggio 1 to start the Rhythm burst).
Whenever you get Snack Time and Narja's basic skill is still in the draw pile, use it immediately to exhaust both cards.
Now we finally get to the Rhythm cards. You ideally want to play the Arpeggio in order from 0 to 5 to minimize their cost, but starting with either 0 or 1 is fine. This should also activate Call & Reponse to draw an extra Tenebria card.
After making sure you have all the remaining Arpeggios in hand, and ideally with 8 cards, play Forbidden: Portait of Fury to fetch any stragglers (usually Tenebria's Spotlights).
After all Arpeggios are in the graveyard, use Spotlight to draw Arpeggio 4, Arpeggio 5 and Arpeggio 1 (make sur to always pick Arpeggio 1 last as it will be the card you draw). You will usually always have enough AP to play it thanks to the divine epiphany on Spotlight, and thanks to their effects Arpeggio 4 and Arpeggio 5 will also be free.
Repeat the previous step with Spotlight and the 3 Arpeggios, bringing your total of activated Rhythm cards to 18 per turn (10 of which being the highest damaging ones).
テネブレアWhile Theater of Illusions is the easiest Chaos to get good engravings, Swamp of Judgement and City of Mist also have great equipments. The "A Song Rippling Through the Stars" modifier is strongly recommended even without needing a Persona card.
Weapon
There is no required weapon for this build to work.
Criticism of Discord (Senectus drop) is usually the bis but Tenebria can use a lot of different weapons, including many that can be found in the shop making it easy to build her. Since most of her Arpeggio cards will be played at 0-cost, even Foggy Crystal Ball or RFS-17 can be used.
Armor
There is no required armor for this build to work.
If running Swamp of Judgement, Fairy King's Crown is the best option. For other Chaos, pick whatever feels best.
Accessory
There is no required accessory for this build to work.
Similar to equipments, you can pretty much use anything you want for the accessory slot. Verdant Shackles is a great option from Swamp of Judgement, Eye of the Eyeless from City of Mist or even a simple Amorphous Cube.
Refinements
To help with setup, you could pick the "At the start of each turn, if this card is the first one used, Draw 2" divine epiphany. This would, however, require you to trade it for a divine from another card to stay within the Faint Memory limit.
This is the key card of the combo. If you have no issues with AP, you can consider omitting the divine epiphany on more copies to free some Faint Memory.
The suggested version of Call & Response serves as extra draw and, if played in the suggested order, will usually either draw another Rhythm card or a Spotlight. The skill version can be used but will pretty much always be wasted draw. Might as well remove the card.
Finally, the Retain version has some decent damage but has a high chance to absorb the cost reduction from Narja's Bottomless Hunger (hence why I didn't pick it).
Adds a bit more damage, with 9 extra hits with the full combo. Other versions can also work and will bring your damage a bit higher if you can properly manage the extra draw. You can, in that case, consider a draw divine epiphany on this card instead of another.
Adds a bit more damage but can make it harder to manage draw and AP. Remove it if it feels more comfortable.
While a Persona card would further increase the damage output, there is no way to reliably get it early each turn and this deck lacks discard fodder to use. You can try it but I would not recommend it unless you also change other parts of the deck.
アリアAria is Tenebria's signature partner and the best option for personal damage.
エルロイズUnfortunately, Psionic combattants don't have good F2P partner options. Eloise will only serve as a stat stick without bringing much utility.
レイLaboratory 0 is recommended to farm Rei's deck and provide her with some extra draw.
Weapon
There is no required weapon for this build to work.
Tentacles of a Ruined Age (Senectus drop) is the best weapon for supports. You can also consider Crimson Sword to provide a source of Agony or a simple Flashbang for utility.
Armor
There is no required armor for this build to work.
Shield of the Watcher can give Selena a few Mark procs for more damage. If running Swamp of Judgement, Fairy King's Crown is the best option.
Accessory
There is no required accessory for this build to work.
Rocket-Adorned Cape can be great for the setup turn but can only be obtained in a specific encounter. Titan Combat Suit or Brainwave-Blocking Helmet are good options to boost survivability.
We use 3 distinct versions of Strike of Darkness in order to maximize the damage boost (identical versions would only stack the turn count instead of the damage increase). The divine epiphany on the upgrade version can be switched to a cost reduction or draw to make the setup turn easier.
Similarly, the divine epiphany on this card can be switched to facilitate the setup turn. Since most of Tenebria's Arpeggios will cost 0, other version of this card won't work as well as this one. As a side note, the boost is minimal enough that removing this card won't have too much on an impact while making setup easier.
We use Snack Time to exhaust Narja's remaing basic skill (left to allow for an extra divine). If you want to min-max, you can keep another basic in the team and opt for the "Exhaust 2" version.
While this card gives a substantial boost to all damage, since it cannot get a divine epiphany it can make it harder to properly manage AP and draw. You can consider removing it if it feels more comfortable (especially if you are not using Tenebria's Encore and Photo Time).
These cards help the team's draw power, with Confiscation being a part of the targeted draw 'chain'. If you don't have enough Faint Memory (because of extra divine epiphanies on other cards) you can omit the AP on Attack!.
Since Rei's goal isn't specifically to deal damage, you can focus on survivability instead and give her any pieces with lots of Defense and Health. You can also consider Ego Recovery as main stat on the Imagination (VI) piece.
ニックスNyx is the best generic partner for Controller combattants with some team-wide buffs and draw with her EGO skill.
ユリSince Rei's stats don't matter too much, Yuri is a great F2P option if only for the draw from her EGO skill.
ナージャIt is recommended to run Theater of Illusions as the easiest Chaos to get good engravings or Blue Pot to be able to obtain Torture Toolbox (if it isn't already on another combattant).
Weapon
There is no required weapon for this build to work.
Tentacles of a Ruined Age (Senectus drop) is the best weapon to support the team damage. Like Rei, you can also consider Crimson Sword to provide a source of Agony or a simple Flashbang for utility.
Armor
Torture Toolbox is needed to easily activate the engraving effects for the whole team. If another combattant already has it (or you are not using the +50% engraving), Chains of Obsession can be a good alternative for extra sustain.
Accessory
There is no required accessory for this build to work.
If you don't have another Unique equipment, Sphere of Randomness is perfect to help with the first turn setup. Bloody Pendant can also be a decent choice to give you more time on the first turn before the enemy acts.
Refinements
The condition for these cards will usually always be active, guaranteeing you get them at the start of each turn (starting from turn 2) for extra draw. The "Draw 2" version should always be played first, while the "Draw a common card" allows you to start a targeted draw 'chain'.
This card serves as a pseudo AP generator by discounting other cards. It is also part of the targeted draw 'chain' to get it as early as possible every turn.
You can consider using the version that directly reduces the cost of cards without needing to trigger Voracity, but it will usually be less flexible.
Both a boost to basic attack cards and a great Voracity generator. This is one of the key reasons why Narja is used in this team.
While this card brings additional sustain and synergizes with Narja's EGO skill, it can be removed to help with draw management if Voracity is enough to keep your HP full. If you keep it in the deck, it will usually sit in your hand until you really need it to reduce the draw needs.
Gives an unconditionnal +150% damage boost to attack cards which you are guaranteed to get early every turn thanks to the targeted draw 'chain' and Attack!. Any attack Persona can work.
This card closes the targeted draw 'chain' and allows you to always get Narja's Persona card early every turn. The AP divine epiphany will also guarantee you have enough AP to play the Persona card (and help with general AP management).
Similar to Rei, Narja is not meant to deal damage here. Although, since she does Defense Based damage you should still prefer Defense rolls to Health rolls when possible.
ガーヤGaya is Narja's signature partner and brings both a team-wide buff after playing Mealtime for the first time and some draw with her EGO skill. If Mealtime is removed, her usefulness is slightly lowered though.
ニックスNyx is still a fantastic option. We really need to clone her.
ユリSimilar to Rei, Yuri will also work perfectly for some extra draw with her EGO skill. We also need to clone her.
Full Scale Offensive: Watch on Google Drive
First time using this deck and still trying to figure out the correct rotation so lots of mistakes here. Still easily reached 3 stars in 3 turns and a 1.2M score in the end. When played optimally (and with Tenebria's EGO skill that I always forget to use) it should reach over 1.3M.
Spiral Tower of Screams: Watch on Google Drive
A pretty clean run which shows the deck can clear in 5 turns and with enough sustain. I purposely only picked Arpeggio 5 as the final card since Tenebria's EGO skill double hit effect was only active for one more card, as well as to defeat the boss before getting hit (even though it would not have been a problem since the team was still full health).
Personal deck score (1=bad, 5=good)
Deck obtention: 1 -> Between the "Treated as a Common Card" divine epiphanies and Rei's Forbidden card (not to mention the equipment engravings), this deck can be quite annoying to farm and will probably need a substantial amount of Abyssal Cores and other edit materials if you are not very lucky.
Ease of use: 3 -> The targeted draw 'chains' make this deck very constistent while staying flexible enough to respond to unexpected situations. The resource management can be a bit tricky (especially on the first turn), but even using a second turn to finish using all upgrade cards won't impact the combo too much. Starting from turn 2, it is almost impossible to get a bricked hand.
Power: 5 -> There is most certainly a way to make Tenebria deal even more damage, but even with an average setup and no limited partners it still manages to reach over 200k damage per turn in a neutral stage.
Sustain: 4 -> Narja will normally generate ~25 stacks of Voracity each turn, allowing for some very decent healing. Mealtime can also be kept as emergency healing when needed (rather than playing it as soon as it becomes 0-cost) and Rei also participates a bit. This deck will only struggle against enemies that can hit very hard and repeatedly.
Total: 13/20
Oouuwwaaah where is my clover googoogaga 😭
Narja ate it 🙃
she lost herself in hunger😱
